CHARACTERISTICS

  • TAKEPRON s is the first OTC drug that contains the same ingredients as those for medical use, lansoprazole, and is highly effective for heartburn, heaviness, and stomach pain in the stomach caused by acid reflux, etc.
  • 1 tablet once daily works for 24 hours.
  • It is an orally disintegrating tablet that can be taken without water.

INDICATIONS

Heartburn, heaviness, stomach pain(This medicine contains proton pump inhibitors which suppress the secretion of gastric acid)

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS

  • Take the following amount after the tablet is disintegrated in the mouth or with cold or lukewarm water.

  • Do not continue taking this medicine for more than 2 weeks.

Precautions regarding dosage and directions

  1. Follow the dosage and administration strictly.
  2. Take once daily at the same time.
  3. If symptoms subside, stop taking this medicine.
  4. As this medicine disintegrates in the mouth but is not absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth, swallow it with saliva or water.
  5. How to take out tablets

Take out the tablets from the PTP sheet by using a fingertip to firmly press the raised portion of the sheet through the aluminum foil on the back. (If the tablet is accidentally swallowed with the sheet, it could pierce the mucous membrane of the esophagus.)

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

What you should NOT do

  1. The following persons should not take this medicine:
    1. Persons who have had an allergic reaction to this medicine or any ingredient of this medicine.
    2. Persons on any of the following medicines: Medicines for HIV infection (atazanavir sulfate, rilpivirine hydrochloride)
  2. Do not use any of the following medicines while treated with this medicine: Other gastrointestinal medicines, oral medicines containing theophylline (antitussive and expectorants, motion sickness medicines), oral medicines containing magnesium oxide (laxatives, etc.)
  3. Lactating women should not take this or should avoid breastfeeding if taking this medicine.
  4. Do not continue this medicine for more than 2 weeks if you also use other proton pump inhibitors (see a physician because serious gastrointestinal disease may be overlooked.)

Who should seek consultation

  1. The following persons should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medicine:
    1. Persons who are medically treated by a physician.
    2. Women who are or may be pregnant.
    3. The elderly.
    4. Persons who have had an allergic reaction to medicines, etc.
    5. Persons with the following symptoms: Weight loss of unknown cause, persistent stomach pain/abdominal pain
    6. Persons who have been diagnosed with any of the following: Liver disease, gastroduodenal ulcer, phenylketonuria
  2. Stop taking this medicine immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist if the following symptoms appear after taking this medicine because they might be adverse reactions of the medicine. Take this leaflet with you.

    Gastrointestinal Abdominal bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, bloody stool, melaena, nausea/vomiting, inappetence, abdominal pain, dysgeusia, stomatitis, glossitis, dry mouth, difficulty in swallowing, heartburn, vomiting, oral leukoderma (Candida infection is suspected)
    Neuropsychiatric Headache, depressed state, sleeplessness, dizziness, sleepiness, tremor, convulsion, transient dazzling, decreased consciousness, fainting
    Cardiovascular Palpitations
    Others Pyrexia, gynaecomastia, oedema, listlessness, numbness of tongue and lips, numbness of limbs, myalgia, alopecia, weakness, arthralgia, blurred vision, twitching of muscles of face and limbs, rigidity and tremor of muscles of limbs

    The following serious symptoms may rarely occur: In such cases, consult a physician immediately.

    Shock (anaphylaxis) Itchy skin, hives, hoarse voice, sneezing, itchy throat, sense of difficulty in breathing, palpitations, clouding of consciousness, etc. occur immediately after taking this medicine.
    Oculomucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis High fever, ocular hyperaemia, eye discharge, lip erosion, sore throat, or rash/redness on extensive areas of the skin persist or suddenly worsen.
    Hepatic function disorder Fever, itching, rash, jaundice (the skin and the white part of the eyes turn yellow), brown urine, general listlessness, inappetence, etc. occur.
    Interstitial pneumonia Shortness of breath or choking sensation after going up stairs or taking some hard action, dry cough, fever, etc. suddenly occur or persist.
    Renal disorder Fever, rash, decrease in urine volume, general swelling, general listlessness, joint pain (pain in the joints), diarrhea, etc. occur.
    Blood disorder Symptoms such as fever, chills, sore throat, nose bleeding, bleeding from gum, bruising, difficulty in stopping bleeding, heaviness of head, palpitations, shortness of breath, feeling sluggish, dizziness, yellowing of the white part of the eye, yellowing of skin, and darkening of urine occur.
    Visual impairment Difficulty in seeing letters and shapes, visual field abnormality, etc. occur.
  3. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician or pharmacist if symptoms do not improve even after taking the medicine for 3 days.

PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Put this medicine in the box. Store the box in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  3. To prevent improper use or loss of quality, do not transfer this medicine to another container.
  4. Do not take this medicine after the expiration date.
