CHARACTERISTICS

  • Japanese kampo formulation 〈Hangeshashinto〉 is remarkably effective for diarrhea and soft stools.
  • This medicine is also effective for neurosis that tends to make you feel nervous or anxious due to stress, etc.
  • This medicine is suitable for persons with moderate physical strength who have a blocked feeling in the stomach.
  • This medicine is easy-to-take, yellow-brown granules (stick-shaped pouch).

INDICATIONS

The following symptoms in persons with moderate physical strength who have a blocked feeling in the stomach, and sometimes experience nausea and vomiting, and loss of appetite and stomach growls with tendency to soft stools or diarrhea:
Diarrhea, soft stools, neurosis, nervous gastritis, indigestion, gastroptosis, weak stomach, hangover, belching, heartburn, acute or chronic gastroenteritis, stomatitis

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS

Take the following amount of medicine with cold or lukewarm water before a meal.

Precautions regarding dosage and directions

  1. Children are permitted to take this medicine only under the direction and supervision of a parent or other responsible adult.
  2. Please follow the recommended dosage and directions.

INGREDIENTS

Two units of this medicine (3.75g, daily dose for persons aged 15 years or over) contain the following ingredients:

Hangeshashinto extract (1/2 dose) 2.25g (as dry extract)
Hange (pinellia tuber) 2.5g
Ogon (scutellaria root) 1.25g
Kankyo (processed ginger) 1.25g
Kanzo (glycyrrhiza) 1.25g
Taiso (jujube) 1.25g
Ninjin (ginseng) 1.25g
Oren (coptis rhizome) 0.5g
Extracted from the above crude drugs

Inactive ingredients:

Sucrose esters of fatty acids, lactose hydrate, magnesium stearate

Precautions regarding ingredients

Since the medicine contains crude drugs, the granules color may vary for individual products; however, this has no effect on the efficacy of this medicine.

Who should seek consultation

  1. The following persons should consult a physician, pharmacist or registered salesperson* before taking this medicine:
    1. Persons under treatment by a physician
    2. Women who are or may be pregnant
    3. Elderly persons
    4. Persons who have experienced rashes, redness, itching, etc., due to medicines or something
    5. Persons who have suffered from the following symptom:
      Edema (swelling)
    6. Persons diagnosed with the following conditions:
      Hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease
  2. Stop taking this medicine immediately and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if the following symptoms appear after taking this medicine because they might be side effects of the medicine. Take this leaflet with you.

    Skin Rashes, redness, itching

    In rare cases, serious symptoms might occur. In such a case, immediately consult a physician.

    Names of symptoms Symptoms
    Interstitial pneumonia When go upstairs or exert yourself too much, symptoms such as shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, dry cough, and fever will appear. They will appear suddenly and persist.
    Pseudohyperaldosteronism, myopathy In addition to listlessness, numbness, stretched feeling, and stiffness of hands and feet, feeling of weakness and muscular pain will appear and gradually worsen.
    Hepatic function disorder Symptoms such as fever, itching, rashes, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and white part of the eye), brown urine, heaviness of the whole body, and loss of appetite will appear.
  3. Stop taking this medicine and consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson if symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine for about one month (five to six times if you take this medicine for acute gastroenteritis, hangover, belching, and heartburn). Take this leaflet with you.
  4. If you take this medicine regularly for long periods, consult a physician, pharmacist, or registered salesperson.

*Registered salesperson: person who has the license to sell OTC medicines except Category 1.

PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE AND HANDLING

  1. Store the medicine in its box in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Keep out of the reach of children.
  3. Do not take this medicine after the expiration date.
  4. When you take this medicine in divided doses, fold over the opened edge of the pouch and store it; the remaining medicine should be taken within 2 days.
